Hala Sultan Tekke in Larnaca
This mosque in Larnaca is considered one of the most important Muslim shrines. It was built on the site where, according to legend, Umm Haram, a relative of the Prophet Mohammed, died. The mosque is located on the shores of a salt lake, which is famous for the flocks of flamingos that come here in the winter. During certain months of the year, the lake completely dries up, leaving behind white salt layers that create a very interesting sight.
Kolossi castle
This small but strong castle was built by the Crusaders in the 13th century and was one of the centers of the Order of the Knights Hospitaller for many years. It was known not only as a military fortress but also as a winemaking center, where the famous “Commandaria” wine was produced, one of the oldest named wines in the world. The castle offers beautiful views of the surrounding vineyards and villages, which makes it a perfect place to visit.
